It’s hard to believe 2023 is almost done – how quickly a year passes when you’re as busy as TAC members, volunteers and staff are!
Looking back, it’s impressive to see what we achieved together. TAC’s councils and committees advanced work across the Association’s focus areas. Projects moved forward with strong support from members. Development began on a comprehensive road safety guide for Canada. Our exceptional network of volunteers grew to record-breaking numbers. And TAC’s biggest-ever Conference & Exhibition was held in Ottawa. It was an exciting year – thank you for being part of it.
Looking ahead, TAC’s plans for 2024 include the launch of a redeveloped website, a survey of members, and some new training courses and publications. Throughout the year, we’ll offer a variety of online forums so members can connect with colleagues across the country and work on transportation issues that matter to them. In September, our Conference & Exhibition will bring us to Vancouver to meet again in person – I know it will be a highlight of the calendar for many of us! I hope you’ll participate in some of our events and activities in the year ahead; we really appreciate the contributions that members make to our work.
The TAC office will be closed as of December 23, 2023, then we’ll be back at our desks ready to serve members and customers again on January 2, 2024. In the meantime, on behalf of the staff and the Board of Directors, please accept our best wishes for the holiday season and peace, health, and happiness in the new year.
