Federal Funding Programs for Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure

May 14, 2020

Attendees will learn about the objectives, eligibility requirements and application processes of two federal government programs that support the creation of a coast-to-coast network of electric vehicle (EV) and alternative fuel infrastructure for Canadians:

  • The Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative was launched in 2016 to support fast EV chargers along the national highway system, natural gas refuelling stations in key freight corridors, and hydrogen refuelling stations in large urban areas.
  • The Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program supports Canada’s goal of 100% zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sales by 2040. Investments focus on EV charging at workplaces, commercial and multi-unit residential buildings, public places and on-street, as well as projects for fleets, public transit and urban freight.

Presenter

Alain Gagnon is a Senior Program Officer with Natural Resources Canada, and manages contribution agreements for EV charging and alternative fuel infrastructure projects across Canada.
