Developing Highly Qualified Personnel for an Era of Connected and Automated Vehicles identifies key trends in technology and mobility over the coming 20 years and suggests skillsets that road authorities will need to develop. It examines current measures to educate and train HQP in Canada, inventories key gaps, and recommends a comprehensive action plan that focuses on educating the future transportation workforce, training the existing transportation workforce, and improving human resources practices and agency governance.
The publication will be of interest to organizations including road authorities, post-secondary institutions and instructors, professional and engineering licensing bodies, workforce development agencies, research bodies, and private companies.
The report is supplemented by two technical appendices (combined) under separate cover (pdf) : Appendix A details the literature review discussed in Chapter 2, and Appendix B details the engagement process with road authorities discussed in Chapter 3.
