Climate Change Integrated Committee

This committee supports the Environment and Climate Change Council. It is a centre of expertise within TAC and a national forum for sharing information and addressing challenges related to greenhouse gas reduction initiatives to mitigate climate change, and adaptation initiatives to promote resilient transportation systems.

Its goals include:

  • Identifying and addressing technical issues relating to climate change mitigation and adaptation
  • Identifying, prioritizing and initiating research and development related to climate change
  • Maintaining awareness of climate change developments and related issues within TAC
  • Promoting resilient transportation systems, including infrastructure, equipment, vehicles, operations and management functions

The Committee works with TAC councils and committees to pursue outcomes of mutual interest related to climate change, and encourages them to address gaps, collaborate, and complement work by others.

Getting Involved

Committee membership is open to interested employees of TAC member organizations and individual members of TAC. As an integrated committee, many members are also active on other TAC councils and committees and share information between groups.

The Committee meets during TAC’s Spring and Fall Technical Meetings and at other times as needed. Employees of TAC member organizations and individual TAC members may attend; others may attend if invited by the Chair.
