Active Transportation Achievement Award
This award recognizes initiatives that improve facilities or services to encourage and benefit people who walk, bike or use other forms of active transportation.
Evaluation Criteria
Outcomes
The overall safety and attractiveness of active transportation is improved, resulting in increased use of the facilities or services and social, economic or environmental benefits.
Innovation
The initiative shows innovation within a Canadian context in active transportation planning, design, operation, regulation, education, promotion, monitoring or reporting.
Transferability
The initiative is relevant to other jurisdictions and offers lessons that can be applied elsewhere.
