Councils and Committees

Volunteer Councils and Committees

Volunteers are key to the technical excellence of the work undertaken by TAC. As in many associations, work is organized around a series of volunteer councils and standing committees.

In TAC, there are four Councils, populated by invitation or designated position representing a cross-section of transportation stakeholders within the membership:

Standing committees are set up as required by these Councils, where subjects require more in-depth analysis. TAC members may join any standing committee that could benefit from their expertise, subject only to limitation due to over-representation from a sector or region.

The general TAC membership is also welcome to attend most Council and committee meetings.

TAC has also established a Small Municipalities Program designed to meet the information and communication needs of the smaller municipalities sector.

TAC's Climate Change Task Force is an inter-council group that provides a forum for focused discussion on the subject of climate change. With members representing all of TAC's councils as well as the Board of Directors, the Task Force coordinates work to ensure climate change issues of interest to TAC members are addressed without duplicating efforts of groups within or outside the Association.
