Climate Change Integrated Committee

Overview

This committee supports the Environment & Climate Change Council. It is a centre of expertise within TAC and a national forum for information exchange and problem solving related to climate change issues, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives to mitigate climate change, and adaptation initiatives to promote resilient transportation systems. Its broad goals include:

  • Identifying and addressing technical issues relating to climate change mitigation and adaptation
  • Identifying, prioritizing and initiating research and development related to climate change
  • Maintaining awareness of climate change developments and related issues within TAC
  • Promoting resilient transportation systems including infrastructure, equipment, vehicles, operations and management functions

A key purpose of the Committee is to enable the coordinated pursuit by TAC councils and committees of shared or complementary outcomes related to climate change, and to encourage councils and committees to address subject-matter gaps, collaborate where beneficial, and complement work by others within and outside TAC.

The Committee meets in person twice a year, and by teleconference as needed. Meetings are open to all employees of TAC member organizations, individual TAC members, and others at the discretion of the Chair. For more information on the Committee, see its Terms of Reference or contact Craig Stackpole.
